ARTRAC Primary School was raised on 02 Nov 1985 and functioned under HQ Western Command. Consequent to the move of Command Headquarter, the school was placed under. Headquarter PH & HP Area. Since Oct 1993 the school is being run under the aegis of Headquarter Army Training Command (ARTRAC). The school is functioning at Summer Hill with the following objectives:-
 To create facilities in the Station to meet the educational need of the children of PBOR and also civilians in the neighboring areas.
To ensure academic excellence and inculcate discipline strength of character, high values and national spirit among the students.
To create conducive environment for a balanced growth of young children with due emphasis on academics & co-curricular activities for all round personality development.
Presently, the school is organized in Eight classes i.e. Nursery, KG, class I to class V. The academic session of the school is from March to December.
The school has an elaborate library, two big playgrounds (out of which one has different kinds of Swings), and an auditorium for conducting the morning assembly & organizing various co-curricular activities & cultural programmes.
Each classroom has been equipped with modern furniture, a fiber blackboard and soft boards. The class rooms have been given a real facelift by the wall paintings based on different themes, which create a motivating, inspiring and academic environment for the students.
PA equipment has been installed in the assembly hall to give stage practice to the students in public speaking in order to develop self-confidence in them. Proper Activity Room has been set up with different montessory teaching aids to facilitate all round development of a child?s personality and also to impart knowledge in a play way method, A computer with a printer has also been provided for routine office ?work, preparing worksheets & showing educational CDS & animation films to the students.
Strength of the School & Staff. The school has a total strength of 141 students with a principal, Nine staff members & two ayahs.
Co-Curricular Activities. Activities organized through out the year are Handwriting, Recitation Drawing, Fancy Dress, Story ,telling, G.K Quiz & Origami competitions. Clay modeling is also taught to nursery & KG children.
