PROJECT AAHWAN   Aahwan –which in Hindi means ‘a call’, is a subsidiary of AWWA, sounding the clarion call for women empowerment. AAHWAN provides job opportunities for Veer Naaris, differently abled girls and families of serving soldiers, thereby empowering them economically and equally. Established on july 31st 2006, the main commitment of AAHWAN is the rehabilitation of bereaved families of brave martyrs who gave their today for their nations’ tomorrow. The project is located at Shekhwati Lines in Delhi Cantt. It has given employment to 40 employees. AAHWAN is engaged in the creation and designing of novelty products like wax candles (decorative, colorful, perfumed and smokeless), handmade paper bags, files, lampshades and other handicraft items.The barracks where AAHWAN is located have been converted into a beautiful, archaic village, the wall of the barracks have been transformed into spectacular works of art depicting Warli, Kalamkari and Raguraj Pur Paintings. The project is being headed by Mrs Nirmala Nair who took over as the Chairperson AAHWAN from Mrs Amita Prakash on 31 Jan 2010. We have modern processing lines for candles, files and paper bags under the guidance of a quality control professional. Quality assurance is the most important aspect being technically looked into in AAHWAN. The wax products are tested and certified by one of the India’s prestigious testing laboratories. New product varieties have been introduced by making scented, colorful and smokeless candled for occasions like Valentine’s Day and Holi. Candle varieties include T Light, Floating, Rectangular, Spherical Cylindrical and Spiral. Our products are available at the project site,  Canteen Stores Department and other commercial avenues. AAHWAN is an organization of willing participants. Every member of our noble and great organization has the potential and ability to empower not only herself, but also other underprivileged members of the organization in togetherness.
