Mrs Kirti Kapoor
President AWWA

Dear AWWA Members,

It is with absolute humility and gratitude to the Almighty that I assume the appointment of the President AWWA.  I am aware of the veneration with which this office is held by all the members of this great organization.  I invoke the blessings of God for giving me stronger shoulders instead of the lighter loads.

On this occasion, I would like to reiterate that the cause of Veernaris and their rehabilitation concerns me the most.  We should provide the emotional support required to enable them to bear the painful loss.  All members of AWWA must go out of the way to rehabilitate and empower the Veernaris and their children.  I also exhort upon all the Colonels of the Regiments and station authorities to take active interest in supporting the rehabilitation of the families of Veernaris.  They have made the supreme sacrifice for the security and safety of this nation.  We owe this much to them.

I would also like to continue our efforts for the socio-economic empowerment of our members.  Our collaborative efforts with various ministries and government bodies are yielding encouraging results.  Many projects have already become economically viable and some are in the pipeline.  All our projects must produce good quality products.  Only then the projects will become successful.  The products must sell on their own steam.

I am also concerned about the well being of our Asha School children and their rehabilitation.  The most difficult part is to rehabilitate our children and make them become useful citizens of our society.  They must be taught some kind of vocational skill so as to empower them.  Their abilities must be harnessed and honed.

Early Childhood Care and Education of children is an investment and is the need of the day.  These children will be the leaders of tomorrow while the nation is on the threshold of becoming human resource power.  A good education in the early years is critical for the mental and physical faculties of a child.  We would all like our children to have the advantage of good start especially our soldiers children.  They can not afford costly schools, so we must provide them quality education at a fee which they can afford.  It is our responsibility towards them.

I wish to express my gratitude to all my predecessors whose vision and significant contributions have given AWWA a prominent place as an effective NGO of our country.  I wish to express my resolve for continuing all meaningful and relevant concepts and projects for the larger good of our environment.

In the end, I would call upon all AWWA members to work collectively as a team.  It is only as a team that we can bring about any meaningful improvements and worthwhile change.  Team work is more important than individual performances. I am reminded of the  famous quote by Andrew Carnegie. I quote:
“Teamwork is the fuel that allows common people to attain uncommon results.” unquote

I wish you all good luck and fruitful achievements in the days to come.

Thank You.
