    About Varanasi– Host City of AWWAIndia Association Conference

    Varanasi also called Banaras, or Kashi is in south-eastern Uttar Pradesh (U.P.) state in northern India. It is located on the left bank of the Ganges (Ganga) River and is one of the seven sacred cities of Hinduism. Hindus believe that one who is graced to die on the land of Varanasi would attain salvation and freedom from the cycle of birth and re-birth. Hon'ble Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi's representation of Varanasi as its Member of Parliament has been unique in many ways. Varanasi is witnessing a revival and growth in healthcare and education. This growth also focuses on rejuvenating the heritage of Varanasi and giving its vibrant culture new avenues to explore and express itself in various forms. The population of Varanasi is 4.12 million. The Conference is scheduled on December 5th & 6th, 2022 at Taj Ganges Hotel.

    About the Conference

  • Along with topics on 24×7 water supply and water reuse other topics related to Public Private Partnership, latest advances in treatment technologies for water, wastewater, water reuse; asset management; IoT based water quality monitoring and surveillance; desalination; energy efficiency; water loss management and Global practices & perspectives shall be covered.

  • The conference will start with the inaugural session at 9.30 AM on December 5th, 2022 with more than 30 technical sessions presented of various topics and exhibits over the two days. The key note address will be delivered by Additional Secretary (AMRUT), Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, Government of India and Deputy CEO of American Water Works Association, USA. Technical support will be provided by Central Public Health and Environmental Engineering Organisation (CPHEEO), Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, Government of India. AWWAIndia Association conference will have both nationally and internationally recognized dignitaries, speakers and experts’ presentations followed by discussions in plenary sessions.

  • The conference will have parallel sessions on Women in Water, Utilities leader’s forum and AWWA’s Management Standards training on water and wastewater utilities treatment, distribution and collection systems.

    Accommodation:

    AIA has made arrangement with some hotels for special rates for registered members. Hotels like The Taj Ganges and Radisson Hotel can be booked by registered delegates using registration number to avail special rates when making direct booking with the hotel. Registration number will be sent along with the delegate registration confirmation communication. As the rooms are limited, they shall be offered on first come first basis. However, there are several other hotels situated within short distance around the venue of conference. Delegates can choose to book directly with alternative hotels as per personal choice.

    Cultural Tour

    Varanasi has several religious andt our istattractions. A culture tour on Ganga River which involves Cruise tour of all the 84 Ghats (Ravidas Ghat to Raj Ghat and back), famous Ganga Aarti Darshan at Dashashwamedh Ghatalong with light refreshments has been arranged on 4th evening 3:30pm to 7:00pm, delegates and their spouse coming on 4th can plan to register on Event tour website. The tour shall include pickup and drop-off from the conference venue shall arranged for delegates registered for the tour.Due to limited availability reservation on first come first basis will be accepted.
